UNCG’s clinical program emphasizes the integration of science and practice and values both basic and applied research on human behavior across the life span. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (next site visit in 2021). All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and practicum supervision.
We invite applications from psychologists whose research focuses on child/adolescent clinical psychology, broadly defined. We are especially interested in applicants who use a developmental psychopathology perspective in the study of behavioral dysregulation and externalizing symptoms. We seek to build on a long-standing training focus of our clinical program to provide services to underserved populations in a culturally competent manner, as well as complement current research strengths in minoritized populations.
