Clinical Research Assistant Position
The Buckeye Center for Hearing and Development in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a curious, motivated, and organized individual to serve as a full-time Clinical Research Assistant for several NIH-funded projects. The projects investigate neural, audiological, cognitive, and environmental factors that affect developmental outcomes of children with hearing loss who use hearing aids and/or cochlear implants. An ideal candidate will have a background in Psychology, Speech & Hearing Science, Human Development & Family Science, or a related field.
The Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for coordinating recruitment and scheduling across multiple projects and primary investigators, facilitating effective and open communication with another staff member off-site who does outreach with potential participants and families, and maintaining relationships with families of participants, some of whom participate longitudinally. Consequently, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, organizational, and time management skills. Because this individual will interact with many families who are participating longitudinally in our studies, she or he should have prior experience working with children and families. The ideal candidate will be poised, comfortable balancing various responsibilities and requests from multiple people at a time, while ensuring the needs of each project are met. He or she also will be patient, eager to learn, and conscientious.
The position includes benefits.
