Looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow
There is potential funding for a post-doc for the project ‘Early Predictors to School Age Language: Individual and Interactional Child and Parent Factors,’ 12/1/2018-11/30/2023.
Potential post-docs contact me, Letty Naigles letitia.naigles@uconn.edu, with ideas, and we jointly write a 'diversity post-doc' supplement to the grant, which we then submit to NIDCD. Below are listed additional rules and regs:
Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-20-166.html)
The institution determines, justify and certifies the eligibility of the candidate.
The principal investigator of the NIDCD-funded award prepares the supplement application together with the candidate.
Typically, supplements are provided for a maximum of 2 years with a strong justification for a second year.
The application must clearly describe the need for additional mentored research training.
Applicants must include a plan to transition to NIH mainstream research training and/or research funding as part of the proposed development plan.
The parent award (i.e., R01) must have an active budget that is at least equivalent to the duration of the requested supplement and should not be (or go) in non-cost extension.
Typically, we award 1 supplement per parent award to support 1 candidate.
Supplements are limited to citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States or to individuals who have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States (i.e., in possession of a Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551).
individuals supported in a research award (like an R01) may not be transferred to a supplement to increase the availability of funds to the parent grant for other uses.
Discuss the supplement request with your program officer to make sure that the proposed project falls within the scope of the parent award.
Typically, we accept applications at any time, and we respond to the applicant within 6 weeks after receiving the application.
