Psychonomic Society Awards
The Governing Board of the Psychonomic Society created a range of awards with the aim of recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advancing the experimental study of cognitive psychology. These awards align with the Society's strategic goals in leadership, mid- and early career development, and scientific research. Each year, the Society recognizes its members and promising students with the following awards and honors.
Clifford T. Morgan Distinguished Leadership Award
Presented at the Psychonomic Society Annual Meeting
The Psychonomic Society will generally confer up to two leadership awards each year to awardees who have made significant contributions to the field of cognitive psychology and sustained leadership and service to the discipline. Recipients demonstrate a commitment to scientific and methodological rigor in the community of researchers at the forefront of the experimental study of cognition as well as a demonstrated commitment and dedication to develop and advance the Psychonomic Society and its mission. Recipients will receive an award and a $1,000 cash prize.
Presented at the Psychonomic Society Annual Meeting
The Psychonomic Society will confer scientific awards each year upon for exceptional contributions to the field of experimental and cognitive psychology, and related areas by an individual who is currently in the middle of their career. They will receive an award and a $2,500 cash prize plus airfare to the Annual Meeting.

The Psychonomic Society will confer scientific awards each year upon young scientists who have made significant contributions to scientific psychology early in their careers. The awardees will receive an award and a $2,500 cash prize plus airfare to the Annual Meeting.
Presented at the Psychonomic Society Annual Meeting
Each August, the Publications Committee will ask the editor of each journal to select the best paper that was published in journal in the last year. The selected first authors of those papers will be honored at the Annual Meeting and receive a monetary award.

Each year, the Psychonomic Society will give up to 15 Graduate Travel Awards for Student Members of the Society. Each Awardee will receive a travel stipend of $1,000.
Frank Yates Student Travel Award: Supporting diversity & inclusion in cognitive psychology
Presented at the Psychonomic Society Annual MeetingThe Psychonomic Society will annually give up to five J. Frank Yates Student Travel Awards for graduate student members of the Society who are in underrepresented populations, including those who are disadvantaged or discriminated against in some way, and in diversifying our perspectives. Each Awardee will receive a travel stipend of $1,000.
Psychonomic Society/Women in Cognitive Science Travel and Networking Award for Junior Scientists
Presented at the Psychonomic Society Annual Meeting
Two awards will be given to qualified candidates from any area of the Psychonomic Society who have had a presentation accepted at the annual meeting, to facilitate networking with two senior scientists at the annual meeting.
International Graduate Accommodation Award
The Psychonomic Society will give up to 25 Graduate Accommodation Awards for Student Members participating in the Psychonomics International. Each awardee will receive free of charge accommodation for the International Meeting.
