ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor studying cognitive development to begin in Fall, 2023. The ideal candidate would have a research program in aging and cognition, language development, computational modeling, or individual differences in gene-environment interactions, although any strong cognitive developmental scientist will be fully considered. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field. Candidates must display evidence of strong scholarly work, and existing or potential for securing extramural funding. Further, we seek an individual who is committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive. The Department offers a B.A. in psychology and a Neuroscience minor. The Department has 30 full-time faculty members with an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program and Psychological and Brain Sciences Ph.D. program with cognitive, developmental, and quantitative/social/community areas of study (https://www.unlv.edu/psychology/graduateprograms). Neuroscience area faculty in the Department of Psychology mentor and teach doctoral students in the campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program (https://www.unlv.edu/degree/phd-neuroscience).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field, from a regionally accredited college or university. Candidates must display evidence of strong scholarly work, and existing or potential for securing extramural funding.
