The Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in psychology of education. It offers an exciting opportunity for a cutting-edge psychology researcher to join a leading national and international centre engaged in teaching and educational research. We seek candidates who will increase the Faculty's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through their research, teaching, mentoring and/or lived experience.

The search is open to candidates in any area of psychology of education, although applicants are encouraged to think about how they would fit into one of these areas: open science; social, emotional and cognitive development; anti-racism in psychology; bias, inclusion and disadvantage in educational settings; or intervention/implementation science. Applications are particularly encouraged from those whose research includes children from ethnic minority groups.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the international profile of the Faculty of Education through research publications, external funding, impactful dissemination, and public engagement. They will contribute to undergraduate, master's and doctoral teaching as well as initial teacher training and professional development. In addition, they will have relevant experience of working with university students, including: teaching, mentoring or supervising undergraduates; professional skills training for school teachers, contributing to Masters teaching or supervision; and supervising doctoral students. The successful candidate will be able to work with a diverse group of students in an inclusive way.

The successful candidate will work closely with the PELS (Psychology, Education and Learning Studies) research group. PELS is a multi-disciplinary group in the Faculty of Education broadly specialising in psychology of education research. Working with other colleagues, the successful candidate will be expected to make an immediate contribution to the Faculty's teaching and research and will be expected to engage in research supervision at the master's and Doctoral level. The role is split between research and teaching / teaching-related admin / programme leadership. The ability to manage a varied workload and work cooperatively with academic colleagues and support staff is essential.

Candidates will hold a PhD in a relevant subject or be close to completion of their doctoral studies. They should have a record of internationally excellent research in their field appropriate for their career stage. Excellence in research is judged through peer-reviewed publications, funding and other forms of contribution to the research environment (e.g., editorial roles, conference organization, etc).
