Two Tenure Track Faculty Positions at Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) seeks highly qualified applicants for two tenure-track positions. One position is solely within the Department of Psychology, while the second is split between the Neuroscience Institute and Psychology. Appointments will be considered at ranks from assistant to associate professor (including tenured associate). Applicants may apply via Interfolio at apply.interfolio.com/132608.
For the joint search between Psychology and the Neuroscience Institute, we seek candidates undertaking programmatic, theory-driven research that addresses how the complex neural processing in the human brain realizes intelligence and behavior. We are particularly interested in collaborative candidates who can capitalize on Carnegie Mellon's state-of-the-art MRI capabilities to understand healthy brains and mental or neurological disorders, and whose theoretical approaches and methodologies can link to Carnegie Mellon University’s core strengths in cognitive science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, and biological sciences.
For the search fully within Psychology, we seek candidates undertaking programmatic, theory driven research that advances our understanding of human behavior, cognition, language processing, learning/development, and perception. We are particularly interested in applicants whose theoretical approaches and methodologies link across these strengths, as well as to computational modeling, large-scale and longitudinal data collection, neural foundations, or applications to the learning sciences or intelligent systems.
Information about the Department of Psychology can be found here, the Neuroscience Institute can be found here, and our facilities can be found here.
