Full-Time Research Technician - Yale University
Yale University
The Crockett Lab at Yale University invites applications for a full-time Research Technician position to begin in summer/fall 2021 (start date flexible). The position is for one year with a possibility of renewal. Remote work is possible. We will begin reviewing applications on 4/15/21 and continue until the position is filled. We are looking for applicants interested in applying computational methods to studying human morality in the digital age. Some of our current projects are investigating how narratives influence moral judgment and decision-making; how social media impacts moral emotions and political behavior; the cognitive and neural mechanisms of dishonesty, hypocrisy, trust, and social influence; and social cognition in mental health disorders.
The Research Technician will contribute to all aspects of our lab’s research, including (1) developing software and secure databases for storing and analyzing behavioral data, neuroimaging data, and big datasets scraped from social media; (2) programming experiments and collecting data for behavioral, online and fMRI studies; (3) general lab computing support; and (4) training undergraduate research assistants in programming and data analysis methods. The position is an excellent opportunity to gain multidisciplinary research experience. The ideal candidate will be interested in ultimately pursuing graduate study in psychology, computational social science, data science, or a related field.
We believe that our science is better with a diverse team. We embrace and encourage our lab members’ differences in race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, socio-economic status, first-generation status, family or marital status, language, national origin, political affiliation, religion, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our lab members who they are.
